B.U.I.L.D. FILM
Shot on a vintage Bolex H16, this short film is an evocative exploration of dreams, resilience, and the power of community. Created for Third World Baby (3WB), an emerging streetwear brand founded by a childhood friend group who grew up in Tanzania and now study in London, the film blends storytelling, fashion, and purpose into a singular vision of hope.
Set against the vibrant backdrop of Kenya, the narrative zooms into the life of a Sudanese refugee who plays basketball for BUILD, a local NGO that supports youth through sports and education. Through his own voice, the film reveals his journey—the struggles of growing up displaced, the ambition of chasing a professional basketball career, and the profound connections he shares with his community. His story, while deeply personal, becomes a metaphor for the universal pursuit of dreams.
"Everyone has their basketball" is a central theme—a lifeline to success or passion that drives us forward. For some, it’s the rhythm of a basketball court; for others, it’s music, art, or poetry. The film aims to uplift, inspire, and resonate with anyone who has ever dared to dream beyond their circumstances.
Rooted in 3WB’s ethos of storytelling and connection, the film was created as part of their upcoming collection, Sports Club N3, launching this weekend. The collection is not only a celebration of the intersection between sport and self-expression but also a means of giving back. A percentage of the proceeds will go directly to BUILD, amplifying their vital work in empowering young people.
