We returned to Tanzania to produce "Shwari," a cultural film delving into the beauty of the diverse culture that resides on the Swahili coast along with the memories of our upbringing.
From the busy and vibrant streets of Dar es Salaam to the shores of Paje, Nungwi, and Stonetown, every scene captures the diverse culture of the Swahili coast.

From the Swahili language, borrowed from Arabic suwar, "calm sea" is a personal endeavor—one of the only projects that we shot entirely ourselves, also editing, grading, and curating the music. The turnout at our screening was beyond expectations—over a hundred people came together to experience our creation.
We are also grateful for the chance to reconnect with our roots and share this journey with others.
